TRAINING COURSES
Our short courses include a practical demonstration into air pressure testing and cover the background and relevant statutes. They also explain the testing methodology and how to interpret the results. There is an option to sit an audited test at the end of the course and a certificate can be issued for CPD purposes.
Training for commissioning agents and management
This course is suitable for those who are looking for a more in depth understanding of Part L in conjunction with the practical side of conserving fuel and power. It reinforces the fact that there is a considerable amount of documentation concerning this act but its practical application is less well understood.
This course includes a practical demonstration of an air pressure test. Time is spent on analysing the data produced during a test and turning this data into meaningful actions.
Coverage is given to monitoring the build process, what to look for and how to audit it. It identifies key responsibilities and offers suggestions on how to build the checking process into current site practices.
Training for construction workers
This longer course also includes the practical demonstration and explains the background to the legislative changes. It goes on to identify common faults and remedial action within construction itself.
The aim is to upskill the workers with a view to increasing the chances of a positive result during testing.
It identifies common faults, weaknesses in construction materials and methods that impact on air tightness. As one example non exposed block work which is faced rather than joint sealed. Whilst it may appear to form a barrier the reality is that this will allow air flow.
The course also covers issues about jointing different construction materials together, the arrangement of insulation including bridges and gaps and the difficulty there can be in identifying a leak source. It discusses air flow patterns and their impact on air tightness.
General
All our courses are run be experienced trainers. They can be run on or off site. Quotations for this type of work are course specific and depend on location, numbers and any additional requirements that you may have.
